As you now, we need to replicate datasources in BW after we create new extractor or make changes to existing extractors. It means manual intervention from BW side before BASIS apply bw transports. We can avoid this by following below approach, no need to replicate the datasources in QA or Prod environments.
- Make changes to extractors in SAP dev and replicate datasources. Development is the only environment where we need to replicate.
- After the replication capture the datasource in a transport in BW Dev environment.
- Capture any other objects that you created or changes (Like infoobjects, ODS, transformations etc).
- Move SAP transports to QA or Prod environments.
- Move BW transports datasource transport first followed by remaining transports. No need to replicate.
