Transactional InfoCubes (T-Cubes)

Transactional InfoCubes are used in connection with the entry of planning data.

The data from T-Cube is accessed Transactionally, i.e. Data is written to the InfoCube (possibly by several users at the same time). While Standard InfoCubes are used for Read-Only access.
Transactional InfoCubes can be filled with data using two different methods: Loading planned data via BW-BPS or via BW Staging, where no planned data can be loaded.
Creating a Transactional InfoCube:
STEP1: GoTo T-Code RSA1, Creat an InfoArea and then Rt.Click on InfoArea and select Create InfoCube as shown

STEP2: Then it popup the new screen, Give name of InfoCube and Description , then Select the Check box Real Timeand then Press Create as shown

STEP3: Now assign the Characteristics to the Created dimensions & KeyFigures to the keyfigs folder same as we normally do for the cube and Activate.

This is how we Create a Transaction Cubes, Now we will see how to differentiate a Transactional Cube from a Standard Basic Cube and also we will see how to covert a Transactional Cube to a Standard Basic Cube & Viceversa.
STEP1: Here I m trying to covert a T-Cube to a Standard Cube. Rt.Click on T-Cube Created and Select change Real-Time Load Behaviour.. as shown

Simple Way to differentiate a T-Cube from a Standard Cube: In the Above figure, You can also Observe a Symbol Marked in Red, If You place Cursor on it, shows as REAL TIME, which means it is a Transaction Cube. This symbol wont be there for a Standard InfoCube.
STEP2: It Popup new window with two selections as shown

Now Select the First Radio Button and press Continue as shown below

STEP3: Then it popup a window giving options as shown, press YES

Observe the below Figure, now this Cube is ready for Data Loading as a Normal Standard InfoCube.

We have the option to convert a transactional Info Cube, by selecting Convert Transactional InfoCube using the context menu in your transactional InfoCube in the InfoProvider tree. By default, the Transactional Cube Can Be Planned; Loading of Data Not Permitted is selected. The system then fills the cube using the BPS functions. Switch this setting to Transactional Cube Can Be Loaded With Data; Planning Not Permitted, if we want to fill the cube with data via BW Staging.
